Bible claims and purpose

The Bible claims to be a message from God to his human creation.

2Timothy 3:16 & 17 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.

2Peter 1:20 & 21  Knowing this first of all, that no prophecy of Scripture comes from someone's own interpretation. For no prophecy was ever produced by the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.

The Bible explains God’s 7000 year purpose with his current creation.

The earth appears to be very old from fossilised remains, but we are descended from the creation of Adam and Eve 6000 years ago as recorded in the book of Genesis and Bible genealogies support this.

The purpose for God’s creation is explained as follows:

Revelation 4:11  Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.

The final position at the end of the 7000 year period will be:

Habakkuk 2:14  For the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the LORD, as the waters cover the sea.

The seventh period of 1000 years will be the Kingdom of God on earth, when Jesus Christ returns to the earth to be the worldwide king.

As approx. 6000 years have passed since the time of Adam and Eve, we are living in the time period when Jesus Christ will return and set up God’s Kingdom.

Act 3:20 & 21  And God shall send Jesus Christ, which before was preached unto you: Whom the heaven must receive until the times of restitution of all things, which God hath spoken by the mouth of all his holy prophets since the world began.

Revelation 11:15  And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever.

Daniel 2:44  And in the days of these kings shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed: and the kingdom shall not be left to other people, but it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand for ever.

There are various signs given in the Bible that show this time is near. For example, Luke 21:10-11, 25-27. Some of these include a figurative meaning, such as the sun, moon and stars which portray nations of varying power and the sea and waves as nations in a state of unrest with waves of protest from the citizens.
