Human nature and responsibility

Men and women have been given free-will to choose whether to have respect for God or to ignore him and will be rewarded accordingly.

Romans 2:6-10 (God) will render to each according to his deeds, eternal life to those who by patient continuance in doing good seek for glory, honour and immortality, but to those who are self-seeking and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness – indignation and wrath, tribulation and anguish, on every soul of man who does evil…

God want people to give him pleasure by living according to his character and principles, which are explained in the Bible.

Romans 6:13 And do not present your members as instruments of unrighteousness to sin, but present yourselves to God as being alive from the dead (old way of life) and your members as instruments of righteousness to God.

1 Peter 1:13 & 14 Therefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and rest your hope fully on the grace that is to be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ; as obedient children, not conforming yourselves to the former lusts, as in your ignorance, but as he who called you is holy, you also be holy (set apart) in all your conduct.

Humans have mortal (dying) nature, due to the tendency to sin (disobey God’s laws).

Romans 5:12 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:

Death is like an unconscious state.

Psalm 6:5 For in death there is no remembrance of thee: in the grave who shall give thee thanks?

Isaiah 38:18 & 19 For the grave cannot praise thee, death can not celebrate thee: they that go down into the pit cannot hope for thy truth. The living, the living, he shall praise thee, as I do this day:

God extends an offer to people and also a warning.

He will share his immortal nature with those who try to please him in their way of living.

2Peter 1:4 Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

2Peter 1:11 For so an entrance shall be ministered unto you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

Rom 6:22 & 23 But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life. For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Joh 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Joh 3:17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

But those who take no notice of God will have no further life after they die.

John 3:18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

2Thessalonians 1:8 Taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ: Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power; When he shall come to be glorified in his saints, and to be admired in all them that believe in that day.
