Jesus Christ the promised Saviour

At the birth of Jesus Christ, the Jews were under Roman domination.

Jesus was born approx. 2000 years ago to Mary and his conception was by the power of God.

Luke 1:35 And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Spirit shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God.

He was a man with human nature like ourselves through Mary but was also the Son of God as God was his father.

Jesus lived a righteous life and pleased his father in all things.

Hebrews 4:15 For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.

God’s plan was that he would be the saviour for others.

As men and women fail in being able to please God in all their way of living (sin) they cannot be righteous on their own or have the hope of eternal life.

God wants people to believe in his son and then he will then forgive their sins and consider them righteous.

John 6:40 And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day.

When we are baptised into Jesus Christ we become associated with him and heirs of the promise made to Abraham.

Gal 3:26-29 For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus. For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ. There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus. And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.

When believers die their death is referred to as being like sleep and they have the hope of being raised up to new life when Jesus returns.

1Thessalonians 4:15 & 16 For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not precede them which are asleep. For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:

Jesus was largely rejected by his people and as a consequence many were killed and others dispersed from the land by the Romans.

The truth of the prophecy in Deuteronomy has been clearly seen, as previously mentioned.
